I've always loved older homes because they are filled with character, memories, generations of stories and love. So when we decided to purchase the home that had been in my husband's family for many years I was excited with all of the possibilities that lay before us. Our home is closely approaching 100 years old (built in 1923) and it's the same home that my husband's grandfather grew up in - the same home my husband grew up in - the same home we are raising our son.
Dear House on the Mill is the story of our home and all that goes into it. I am starting this blog not only to track the steps we are taking to make this home our own but also to hopefully help others reach their own dream designs. I am a do-it-yourself type of person and I avoid buying "brand new" decor whenever possible. It's easy on the wallet and good for the heart.
Join our story as we fill this home with God, family, memories, love, and some Southern style.
